Hi I'm Nora!

THE LECA QUEEN

Here's my story...

I've had a lifelong passion for indoor plants, a love affair that started when I was just a little girl. After earning my Medical Doctor degree and completing my Doctoral degree in Cancer Epidemiology, I moved to Australia and became a proud mother to three wonderful children while also nurturing a growing collection of plants – a collection that seemed to flourish as much as my responsibilities bloomed.

STUDY THE BASICS OF LECA

My mission is to try to grow as many plants as I can in LECA, and through the years I've gained valuable insights into growing in LECA. So whether you're a novice plant enthusiast or a seasoned gardener, the resources available on my various platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, and Online courses, are designed to provide you with a solid understanding of LECA and how to use it – from its benefits to the core concepts that make LECA an innovative and effective growing medium.

TRANSITIONING TO LECA

One of the things I truly enjoy is moving a plant from soil to LECA. Whether big or small, I have techniques that can make even the trickiest plants fall in love with the LECA approach. Some plants take to it easily, while others need a bit more effort. It's all about understanding what each plant needs and giving it just that. My well-known "Long Method" has rescued many plants during this transition phase.

THRIVING INDOOR PLANT

It’s not just about transitioning plants from soil to LECA. It’s is about guding the plants now living in LECA to flourish into healthy, mature plants that thrive. It is all about a holistic approach to plant care, where light, nutrition, humidity, water, all play crucial roles. Strike the right balance, and your plants will thrive!

During the global pandemic, Melbourne found itself grappling with unprecedented lockdowns, locking us away from the world. Yet, within the restrictions of my home, I found comfort in caring for my thriving indoor jungle. Life was peaceful until we had to start going out again. It was during this time, standing amidst my Hoyas, that I found myself continually picking up dry, lifeless leaves from the floor. My once-thriving plants were now struggling, because I had less time for them.

I was determined for my plants to not just survive but thrive. It was clear I needed a new plan. That big "aha" moment came when I discovered LECA clay balls.

I'll admit, at first, the idea of using LECA for my plants seemed complex. But, wow, I was wrong. It was actually quite simple. It wasn't until I wholeheartedly embraced this novel approach – ditching traditional soil for the wonders of LECA clay balls – that I truly witnessed the explosive plant growth, streamlined plant care routines, and the blissful freedom from the endless watering routine… And yes, those stubborn fungus gnats were finally gone!

Today, my passion has taken on a new dimension – helping fellow plant enthusiasts to nurture indoor plants using the remarkable medium of clay balls, or LECA.

My purpose is clear: I help plant lovers through the transition from soil to LECA, making plant care both enjoyable and effortless.

My ultimate goal is to empower plant lovers to achieve their dreams of flourishing, robust indoor plants.
